Delete your account

There are two ways. The first takes about ten seconds. The second is for people who no longer have the app.
1. In the app
- Open Updates Group.
- Tap the person icon at the top right of any screen.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Account screen.
- Tap Delete my account.
- Read what it says will go, then tap Delete for ever.
It happens straight away. Nothing is queued and nobody has to approve it.
2. By email
If you have already removed the app, write to contact@techirsh.com from the email address you signed in with, and say that you want your account deleted.
We will delete it within 7 days and reply to say it is done. We ask you to write from the same address only so that we do not delete the wrong person's account.
What gets deleted
- your name, email address, profile picture and account identifier
- the town on your account, and when you joined
- anything you were allowed to do, and any mosque, doctor, hall or resort you were keeping
- your directory listings — unless you ask us to leave them for the town
What stays
Prayer and jamath timings you corrected, events you added, and bookings you recorded stay in the app with your name taken off them.
This is on purpose. A mosque's timings are the town's, not ours and not yours — deleting them because the person who typed them has left would take the prayer times away from everybody else. What is erased is the link between the work and you, which is the part that was personal.
Your Google account is not affected. We sign you in through Google and hold no key that would let us touch it, so we will not pretend we can. If you want that removed as well, do it with Google.
If you sign in again afterwards
You will get a brand new, empty account, with no roles and no history. Deleting is not a suspension — there is nothing left to restore.
