Updates Group is a free community app for Melvisharam, Vaniyambadi, Ambur, Arcot, Ranipet, Pernambut, Gudiyatam, Chennai and Vellore. Using it means accepting the few things below.
The timings are kept by people, and people make mistakes
Check before you rely on anything here. Jamath timings, doctors' sitting hours, hall availability and event times are entered by volunteers and by the people who run those places. They are right most of the time and they are not guaranteed.
Ring the clinic before you travel to it. Ring the hall before you plan around a date. The app shows you when a timing was last checked so that you can judge for yourself how much to trust it.
Prayer timings for each town are fixed tables bundled with the app so they work without a signal. Correcting them means us releasing a new version.
The app does not book anything
There is no booking button anywhere in this app, and there never was. A hall is booked, and a doctor is seen, by ringing the person who keeps it. Seeing a day marked free here does not hold it for you and does not tell the hall you are coming.
If you list a business
- List your own business, or one you have been asked to list.
- Put in details that are true, and correct them when they change.
- Everything you enter is published, so give only numbers you want ringing.
- An administrator checks a listing before it appears, and again after you edit it.
We can take down a listing that is false, that is somebody else's, or that is being used to annoy people. There is no appeal beyond writing to us, because there is no committee — this is a town app run by volunteers.
Your name or number in the app
The app lists doctors, imams, muezzins, hall keepers and tradespeople with the numbers people need to reach them.
If your details are in the app and you want them out, write to contact@techirsh.com and we will remove them. You do not have to explain why, and you do not need an account to ask.
Using it decently
- Do not use the numbers here to send advertising to people.
- Do not collect the listings to sell or publish elsewhere.
- Do not try to get at parts of the app or the server that are not yours.
- Do not enter anything abusive, false, or designed to mislead the town.
We may close an account that does these things.
Signing in
Signing in uses your Google account. Keep it secure, and tell us if you think somebody else has used yours. You can delete your account at any time — here is how.
What we do not promise
The app is provided as it is, free, with no promise that it will always work or always be right. We are not liable for a wasted journey, a missed prayer, a hall that turned out to be taken or a doctor who was not sitting. Check first.
Religious content
Timings, Islamic dates and the Islamic Corner are provided as information from the mosques and people of these towns. Where a question is disputed, your own mosque decides — not this app.
Changes
These terms may change. The date at the top says when they last did. Continuing to use the app means accepting the current version.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of India.
